New Bajaj Pulsar 200NS...A Blistering Addition!!!

Overview
The all new Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is now available in the market well equipped with new technology of 3 spark, 4 valve technology in their engine. NS is an acronym to the “NAKED SPORT”. Naked being the word used for the type of the body this pulsar have. Powered by a liquid-cooled engine with 200cc can develop a maximum power of 23.52Ps @ 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.3 Nm @ 8000 rpm. What expected from the bajaj is the entirely new revolution in the pulsar as was promised by the bajaj auto and to some extent they have reached those expectations too. This is an all new upgraded, latest version in the view of its styling look and technology.

Bajaj Pulsar Design and Style
In its external look the pulsar is succeeded in providing this bike a stylish look. The bike is of naked body type and the chassis of the bike is made of lightweight providing it a greater speed and power with the styling look it has. The bike involves a change in its layout for the exhaust keeping it positioned beneath the engine. This is a design which is very complicated but attractive too with different cuts and angles at various places in the bike. The adjective Naked Sport is well justified with its sportier and aggressive look at the front. The engine is stronger and light in weight making it easier and enjoyable to ride. However this design is inspired by the 200 Duke and 135 LS, yet the pulsar has made it again and provided the market a new sportiest bike comfortable to ride.

Engine and Gearbox
The bike is all provided with a liquid cooled 200 cc engine which is capable of developing 23.52 Ps of power and 18.3 Nm of torque at 9500 rpm and 8000 rpm respectively. The company has claimed that this bike will give a mileage of 58kmpl at highway (under standard running conditions) when it runs at a constant speed of 60kmpl and can achieve a top speed of 136kmph. The engine is provided with a six speed transmission which is operated manually.

Instrument cluster
This bike is all provided with an all new combination of digital-analogue instrument cluster. It contains digital speedometer, digital fuel indicator, digital trip meter and analogue tachometer. The tachometer can be seen at the center with a small vertical screen which shows the fuel indicator.

Acceleration and top speed
As per bajaj claims, the bajaj pulsar 200NS has the capacity to attain a top speed of 136 kmph, which is exactly equal to what was provided by the 200 Duke. The bike can start at 0 and attain the speed of 60 kmph in just 3.6 seconds and 100 kmph in just 9.8 seconds. Definitely it provides what is all claimed by the bajaj and the figures it shows is amazing and many of the riders for this bikes will find the acceleration rate and the stability feature of this bike attractive.

Mileage
The involvement of 3 spark plugs in the engine is useful in increasing the fuel economy at low and mid-range revs. The mileage figures as is given by the manufacturer of this bike has made this bike sufficient enough to stand in competition to the other bikes of such price and all the previous releases of pulsar. In traffic conditions, a driver can expect a mileage of 38 kmpl and on highways an increased mileage of 58 kmpl can be expected. Thus overall making it available at an average mileage of 45 kmpl. The fuel tank has the capacity of 12 litres.

Comfort while driving
Although this is a large bike and is provided with a wide shape yet its thicker handle bar grips have an enhanced texture and generates the feel of control in the driver. The seating position is upright making it suitable to drive the bike through the traffic. The seat is stronger but it feels a little bit firm when the bike is used for long journey. The seat is positioned a higher in respect of the wheel base.

Suspension
There is a 37mm telescopic front fork suspension at the front with anti-friction bush. A nitro mono-shock absorber suspension is provided at the rear of the bike with a piggyback can canister. While driving when the bike strikes a hard patch, the suspension system available in the bike helps the bike to provide the usual running comfort.

Brakes
The brakes are of 280mm and 230mm at the front and the rear of the bike respectively. The brakes are of petal disc type. The bike’s riding distance from 60 to 0 kmph is 16.33 metres. The brakes are stronger and work efficiently. Using the rear brakes make the bike to run for a sufficient distance making it easy to modulate pressure.

Ride and handling
The bike is provided with a strong engine which provides a smooth ride under traffic conditions. The running of the bike is quieter as compared to any other pulsar model released so far. In very large traffic, it is fast and silent in riding and can turn without of much effort.

Tyre size
This pulsar is featured with 10 spokes alloy wheel. The tyre is of 100/80 – 17 inch, 52 P at the front and 130/70 – 17 inch, 61 P at the back and both the tyres are of tubeless types. The tyre becomes greasy and unstable in wet conditions leading to the lack of grip that is not a little bit unaffordable for the driver.
